Brilliant game Andy, you played some brilliant stuff. Excellent safety as per and that clearance to win the 2nd was phenomenal!!! The new cue doing wonders for you I think. Again, well played, great game.

R Taticek 3:1 R Murray

Hi John,

When are the finals of this comp being played? It says on the Calander thread that the SF & Final would be 9th & 10th Jan respectively (this makes sense as there is a free week in the league). Is this still the intention if the QF deadline is the same day as the scheduled SF?

Alec

A. Main 3 - 1 D. Morrison

Alec 47 break

Semi Finals to be played on Monday 9th January. Played at Culter Mills Club.

7.30pm Start.

Best of 7 frames.

M Davis(22)   v   A Main(Old1)

J McCann(Cult1)  v  R Taticek(Cult2)

Referees D Morrison and E Laing.

Polo shirts and dress trousers.

The Final will be on Tuesday 10th January at 7.30pm.

All,

Would be great to see a good turnout for the semis and particularly the final since we have altered the schedules to allow a Monday/Tuesday to promote higher numbers of spectators. Also in memory of Derek who was easily one of the very best players we have had locally who helped many players with their game.

thanks

Derek

J.McCann 4-2 Rene Tatichek

M.Davis 3-4 Alex Main

Great semi final night with great quality in both matches.

Marc had a magnificent 107 break, however Alex also had three 40 plus breaks.

John had a 54 and 48 break and Rene had three 30 plus breaks.

Should be a great final tomorrow and would be great to get a good turnout.

Well done Alex and John.

Final update…..

At 3-3 had to halt proceedings due to time constraints.

Final will resume tomorrow at 8pm.

Thanks to those who turned up to watch…although numbers were low which is disappointing particularly since we changed things to make final a Tuesday.

Derek

Well must say disappointing turnout for the final, think I counted 14 spectators at the most, especially after cancelling the league fixtures as well like Derek said above, should of started at 7pm also.,but going the way the frames went might not of mattered,Very good start from Alec solid snooker and some good safety from both players with Alec going up 2-0 and 3-1 but as the game was getting longer John seemed to be coming back into it and was starting flow and score better to tie at 3-3 and then we were kicked out🤣.Bit disappointing but club rules I suppose can’t imagine how it was for the players.Going forward would it not make sense to make it best of 7 incase this situation arises again or could the final not be played at a weekend during the day maybe might also attract a bigger crowd🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

Most disappointing tho was no sandwiches or sausage rolls at the interval🤣.
