AGM 2025
This years AGM will be held on the 20th May at 7:30pm at Sportsman’s club. We welcome proposals for the coming season. Please post proposals on this forum you would like to be discussed and voted on.
All Captains should attend and can nominate a team member as a replacement if unavailable. Team members are welcome to attend but votes are counted as 1 vote per team.
The biggest point I wish to discuss is moving league night to a Wednesday. This in my view is crucial if we are to encourage new players from the pool leagues to play snooker. Once we have a list of proposals I will post the full agenda… get posting.

Good idea in theory Dek ,but might be a case of we lose players or teams by changing the night🤷♂️,do we know if there is interest from pool league at the moment.
Could maybe put an ad up on pool association page asking the question see if generates any interest,just an idea.
At the moment at Oldmachar we have a couple of guys that play regular and are confident in they will have a team to enter for next season.
Could there be clubs that still have tables also have members that might enter our handicap league.
RUA, Cricket club, Banchory legion and there may be others that I don’t know of.
Only my opinion but I think it might be hard to grow the game with the pool players without a Qclub or Red triangle type of club in Aberdeen. That’s the atmosphere that these pool players are used to.
Could it be worth trying to run an open competition or two in Riley’s over the summer while the pool league isn’t running to see if there is any interest. I’d imagine the comps would need to involve a decent amount of prize money to get their interest but I’d imagine sorry to say it but Marc would probably scare them away if he enters 😜🤣🤣. I might be wrong but I think they also have a pool summer league and if they do they obviously are still interested in playing.
I’ve no idea why Riley’s don’t already do this to attract custom into their club anyway.

Can I put in a proposal that the start times for games is brought forward to 6.30. As I imagine most teams can have at least two players ready for that first matches, as some teams, matches are become ridiculously late in finishing. Also a lot of the clubs are saying that they are closing by 11for staff issues and saves them having this issue?
Maybe some will still have this problem?
