Derek Hearns Memorial 25
Quote from Monsoon111 on December 10, 2025, 4:40 pmI said arguably….. Marc doesn’t seem to mind and John should have the advantage. Anyway appreciate your point but no one else wants to hold the final stages so what can we do. Need to appreciate that Culter closed on a Monday and they opened and supplied the Sandwiches etc which should be applauded.

Quote from Derry on December 10, 2025, 10:11 pmCongratulations Marc, would have been there for the final had we not had to play a match, watching you play Derek in the semi final you looked like you would be hard to beat but the way John has been break building this season it looked to be a great final in the making.
I think yourself and John just have to face the fact that unless there is an off day by either of you then you will both be competing in the majority of finals. And that is the way it should be, there is plenty other things for the rest of us mere mortals to compete for.
- Handicap singles
- plate
- 2 shoot outs
- singles League
- counties place
- Aberdeen singles
I don't think we have a broken system just a lack of time or desire for members to improve to a competitive level.
The committee keep banging the drum for members to attend the finals but no-one is listening or willing to attend, the committee has changed final days and offered other clubs the chance to host so the blame cannot be landed solely at their feet. Maybe this is just a sign of the times that as human beings we are naturally lazy and would rather watch snooker on YouTube.PS. was this live stream or recorded (Steve Clark is normally seen hanging about with a iPhone on record)
