Rene Taticek 5-2 Derek Hudson
A very entertaining high standard match with both players playing good safety a break building.
Rene won the first frame with help of a 42 break. The second frame was awarded to Derek as Rene nominated the yellow from the back of the pack after failing to position on the black, then with the black ball available (albeit very awkward bridging over most of the triangle of reds) missed the yellow 3 times!!.
The next frame was one of the best in an Aberdeen comp with Derek potting a great long red and compiling a 60 break only for Rene to make a 64 clearance to win the frame. At 2-1 Rene managed to win the next close frame followed by the next with a 53 break. At 4-1 down Derek managed a couple of 30 breaks to bridge the gap to 4-2.After some great safety from both players Rene got over the line in another close frame.Well done to Rene for winning the title and Derek for reaching the final.
Also thanks to Culter club for hosting and Stuart Leece for refereeing.

Quote from STUART on April 8, 2025, 10:03 pmCongratulations to Rene on winning another title and to Derek on getting to his first final. Great to see such a good turnout and everyone that turned up was rewarded with one of the best frames of snooker ever played in any Aberdeen final as that third frame really was something special. Brilliant stuff guys 👏👏👏👏

Quote from DVS147 on April 8, 2025, 10:18 pmWell done Rene, some excellent snooker played! Commiserations to Derek, 3rd frame obviously was a hard one to swallow. Great flowing 60 and Rene stepped in to clear, was a cracking break. Great final and a real buzz about the place tonight. Also well done to Raymond and Alec on making the final stages.

Derek
I was there supporting Derek tonight so I was disappointed for him to not get the win. Rene was a class act, from the moment he stepped out his BMW to the moment he stepped back in it. When Hudson made a 60 but he took the frame with 64 on the black was a great advert for Aberdeen snooker and would have graced any professional ranking event. Class . Well done Rene. 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Well done guys!
Peace!

Quote from HudsonHawk on April 9, 2025, 7:15 amThanks to everyone who came out tonight for support, especially all my team mates. Thanks to everyone who sent me nice messages as well. It wasn't to be for me but the better player on the night won and well done to Rene. Couple of bad misses and bad safety shots were punished most of the time and as hard as it was me on the receiving end, the 64 clearance was just class 👏. Was a nice first experience for me and hopefully everyone enjoyed most of it.

Quote from ReneT on April 9, 2025, 8:21 amThanks for the kind words Derek. Your time will come of that there is no doubt!
After my brain fart in the 2nd frame and you “stroking” in the 60 (great cueing by the way) I thought “here we go”. Somehow I rolled back the years (I know many of them ) and nerves to stage a comeback.
Throughly enjoyed playing in front of the large crowd, couldn’t find a seat in the house, mine got nicked 😂.
Thanks to Cultermills for hosting and providing the refreshments and Stuart for prepping the table and reffing. Table was on point.
And last but by no means least to those who took time out to attend, the semis and final, and support Aberdeen snooker 👏
